Questions the desk actually hears

Hang questions, not catalog questions

If your question is about driver spin or iron gapping, we will send you elsewhere. The list below is what people ask once they are already standing under the brass bar.

Why hang a putter instead of buying a heavier mallet?

Mass behind the face can quiet a miss, but it does not tell you whether the toe wants to fall through the ball. A heavier mallet that still hangs 30° will rotate like a blade. Hang first; mass later, if the arc still needs a quieter miss.

Does Charleston humidity change toe hang overnight?

It can. A pistol grip takes on harbor moisture, shaft torque lets the toe drop, and a 32° hang becomes 36° or 38° without a bend. That is why Maren writes humidity on every slip and why we will re-hang a head in June that looked honest in February.

Can a face-balanced mallet still rotate on poa grain?

Yes. Face-balance is a still photograph. Peninsula poa leans toward the Cooper in the morning. A strong arc plus grain will open a “zero-degree” rest in the first three inches. Cora photographs both the rest and the start of the stroke for that reason.

What is a hanging rail, physically?

A level brass bar with a hosel hook. The putter dangles until the toe stops hunting. We shoot the silhouette against a painted degree card. Nothing clamps the head. A tilted rail is a lie, so we vial-level the bar every morning.

Do you touch drivers or irons?

No. Suite 8 is a hang shop. If a wood or a wedge arrives in the cover, it stays in the cover. Charleston already has rooms that bounce soles and frequency-match shafts.

How many degrees is “too much hang” on peninsula bermuda?

There is no universal number. Afternoon bermuda that leans toward the Ashley will punish a 40° blade in a straight-back stroke, and forgive the same blade in a strong arc. We rake the carpet both ways and let the path vote. The card does not vote first.

Will you bend loft to “fix” hang?

No. Hang is not loft. Opening a face with a bar because the toe looked shy is how blades get ruined. We change hanging mass, length, neck family, or we tell you the head is the wrong cousin.

Can someone else pay for my hour?

Yes. A paper gift slip covers Tide Hang, Rest Map, Face-Balance Ledger, or Harbor Rail. The receiver still claims a window. We will not skip the photograph because the clock was a present.

If the list missed the thing that is bothering the toe, write hang@toehanger.shop or claim an hour and bring the putter that is lying.
